**Installation, Safe Use and Maintenance Instructions**
IMPORTANT: To keep children safe from harm, follow these precautions and instructions when installing, using, or maintaining this playground equipment. You can also call us at 1-800-433-2573 for more information or see http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/325.pdf.
Installation: Hangers should be spaced 2 ft from the end of the set and 2 ft a part for each swing. Unscrew bolt holding pendulum bushing in place. Take pendulum out. Put bolt, ½” carriage bolt, not included, (length depending on thickness of wood) up through the top of the swing hanger and up through wood. Screw nut (not included) down snuggly on bolt. Put pendulum back in center of swing hanger and bolt back through pendulum and attach lock-tite nut. Grease or oil bushings if squeaking noises are heard. You will need to use S-hooks or shackles from the chain to the swing hangers. Make sure the S-hooks are closed to within .04 to meet ASTM safety standards. To do this you will need to use our S-hook pliers or a regular pair of channel lock pliers. WARNING: Once the S-hooks have been opened they will have to be replaced to avoid injuries from coming open and/or breaking. Make sure that if you are using shackles they are also tightened.
Safe Use: This is for children 5-12 year olds only. Not for Adults. Adults should supervise children at all times. Do not allow children to stand on or use unsafely. Do not allow it to be used if damaged.
Maintenance: Do the following to reduce the chance of serious injuries. Check monthly for cracks, rust, missing rivets, open S-hooks or evidence of vandalism such as cutting, metal showing through the material or bent seats from children standing on them. Tighten and lubricate all metallic moving parts per manufacturer’s instructions. Check all protective coverings on nuts, bolts, pipes, edges, corners and all moving parts including swing hangers, swing seats, ropes, cables, chains, shackles, pendulums for excessive wear and tighten bolts. Replace as needed. Make sure there are no exposed footings, anchoring devices, rocks, roots, holes or any other obstacles in or around playground equipment. In high use areas these inspections should be done more frequently. Clean with mild soap and water when you do the monthly maintenance checks.
