This tire is 30” in diameter with a 16” opening and is 10” deep.  It is made of Polypropylene.  This tire has built in eye bolts that will accept our A5725 shackle.   This is a great tire swing as no bugs or water can get in it and there is no rubber to wear off and stain the children’s clothes.   It weighs 19 lbs. and meets ASTM Standards that state tires must weigh less than 35 lbs.  No more than 3 children at a time and each less than 35 lbs.

**Installation, Safe Use and Maintenance Instructions**

Installation: Attach the A5725 shackles in the eye bolts, using the wider side to go through the eye bolt and the smaller end to go through the chain. Make sure they are snug after adding the chain into them and closing. When using the soft grip chain, you will need to also add a 5/16 S-hook from the A5725 to the chain. Make sure any S-hooks are closed to within .04 to meet ASTM safety standards. To do this you will need to use our S-hook pliers or a regular pair of channel lock pliers. WARNING: Once the S-hooks have been opened they will have to be replaced to avoid injuries from coming open and/or breaking. Make sure that if you are using shackles they are also tightened.

Maintenance: Do the following to reduce the chance of serious injuries.  Check monthly for cracks, rust, missing rivets, open S-hooks or evidence of vandalism such as cutting, metal showing through the material or bent seats from children standing on them.  Tighten and lubricate all metallic moving parts per manufacturer’s instructions.  Check all protective coverings on nuts, bolts, pipes, edges, corners and all moving parts including swing hangers, swing seats, ropes, cables, chains and shackles.  Replace as needed.  Make sure there are no exposed footings, anchoring devices, rocks, roots, holes or any other obstacles in or around playground equipment.  In high use areas these inspections should be done more frequently.   Clean with mild soap and water when you do the monthly maintenance checks.
