This tire swivel has 3 prongs to prevent chains from tangling.  Our heavy duty commercial tire swivel has a rubber boot to prevent fingers form being pinched.  It is for wood swing set frames.  It has a plate that is 5 ¾” long and 2 ¾” wide with two 5/8” holes that are 4 ½” center to center.  Powder coated in a bright red finish.   

**Installation, Safe Use and Maintenance Instructions**

 Installation:  Place swivel under the beam and attach carriage bolts and nuts snugly.  Use correct size carriage bolts for the size of wood and nuts with lock tight and attach snugly.  (Bolts and nuts are not included.)  You will need to use S-hooks or shackles from the chain to the swivel.  Make sure the S-hooks are closed to within .04 to meet ASTM safety standards.  To do this you will need to use our S-hook pliers or a regular pair of channel lock pliers.  WARNING: Once the S-hooks have been opened they will have to be replaced to avoid injuries from coming open and/or breaking.  Make sure that if you are using shackles they are also tightened.  

Safe Use:  This is for children 5-12 year olds only.  Not for Adults.   Adults should supervise children at all times.  Do not allow children to stand on or use unsafely.  Do not allow it to be used if damaged. 

Maintenance: Do the following to reduce the chance of serious injuries.  Check monthly for cracks, rust, missing rivets, open S-hooks or evidence of vandalism such as cutting, metal showing through the material or bent seats from children standing on them.  Tighten and lubricate all metallic moving parts per manufacturer’s instructions.  Check spinning action and make sure there is no binding, and using a grease gun put a sufficient amount of standard grease in the hanger to allow the hanger to swing freely.  We have used a McKay Molybdenum Disulfide grease cartridge, but any standard grease cartridge from any auto part store should be sufficient.   Check all protective coverings on nuts, bolts, pipes, edges, corners and all moving parts including swing hangers, swing seats, ropes, cables, chains and shackles.  Replace as needed.  Make sure there are no exposed footings, anchoring devices, rocks, roots, holes or any other obstacles in or around playground equipment.  In high use areas these inspections should be done more frequently.   Clean with mild soap and water when you do the monthly maintenance checks.
